Well, well, well... The lockout has been lifted - temporarily, I guess. Judge Nelson read the facts and she ruled in favor of the players, which is a HUGE win for us.

So it's time to head back to our team’s training room facilities, right?! ...Nope.

The Lockout's Been Lifted! (...Kinda)

Well, well, well... The lockout has been lifted - temporarily, I guess. Judge Nelson read the facts and she ruled in favor of the players, which is a HUGE win for us.

So it's time to head back to our team’s training room facilities, right?! ...Nope. The owners aren’t opening up the weight rooms. They’ll let you enter the team facilities, you just can’t use the equipment in there, talk to coaches, work with trainers, etc.

What part of “the lockout has been lifted” am I not understanding correctly? Seriously. Will someone please give me an explanation?

This morning, some of my tweeps were asking if I was going to go into work today. My answer...

“No.”

Why? ...Because I had a hunch the owners would handle things this way. There’s no point in spending $800 on a round-trip plane ticket to Chicago, only to be locked out of where I planned to go. I’m sorry, but I’m not going to leave my kids and pregnant wife behind in Charlotte so I can visit the place I conduct my business at and see that the actual locks haven’t been lifted off a situation that’s supposed to have been unlocked (#SMH). Thanks, but no thanks. My local Velocity Sports Performance facility has most of the same training equipment that’s in Chicago and they won’t stare at me, shaking their head “sorry,” through the glass door that won’t budge as I try to pull it open.

I wish the great chaos of the NFL was happening on the field, not off it -- for both your (the fans’) sake and the players’. Fortunately though, I have another hunch telling me that all this is going to work itself out. But, for now, I guess the owners have decided they're above the law and don't need to unlock the facility's doors when a JUDGE has ruled: "The lockout has been lifted."

I, for one, am not going waste any more time trying to comprehend the mentality the owners are working with. Instead, I'll be here in Charlotte, working out, and enjoying time spent with a group of people who will NEVER lock me out: My Family.
