Yes! Yes! Yes! The Chicago Bears are 1-0!
It feels great to get that first win of the season, especially on an emotional day like the ten year anniversary of 9/11. This victory is one I’ll always remember.
Lots of you folks out there -- cough, cough, the media, cough, cough -- thought the Falcons would beat us in our own stadium. You said we were the underdog. You said our defense was “too old.” YOU were proven WRONG by -- ooooooh -- 18 points. Ha!
Our offense had an excellent performance. They threw the ball well, ran the ball well, and protected the ball well. I’m thinking we’re gonna be seeing a lot more great performances outta them throughout the season. No doubt.
Special teams did their thing, too. Our coverage units were great, and so were our return units.
Defensively...We were THRILLED. We recorded 5 sacks, took the ball away 3 times, and unbelievable Urlacher even scored after his interception. Brian went straight BANANAS this Sunday. ...Not too shabby of a performance by a group of “old men” - huh? Ha!
Now it’s time to move on to the next one: New Orleans. Even though this game in The Big Easy won’t be an easy test, I'm pretty sure we got'em. We’re definitely up for the challenge. Bear Down...
